Position: General Assistant
Location: Staines

Our Retail Garden Centre, based in Staines, Middlesex has a vacancy for a Full Time General Assistant. This role will involve a 2 week rota pattern and will include working alternate weekends and bank holidays. This could be an excellent opportunity for you entering a career in sales and an exciting time for our business as we work towards achieving challenging ambitions.
The specific responsibilities of any of these roles include generating and maximising sales, whilst maintaining a high level of merchandising standards, cashier duties and customer care.
Successful candidates will have an ability to work as part of a team, operate a cash till, assist with planning displays and promotions, put out and maintain stock quality and not forgetting a talent to communicate with and serve customers.

Our Restaurants are an important part of our centres and a significant reason for our customers to visit us. We aim to produce tempting, home cooked, quality dishes with an emphasis on traditional British fare. We have a vacancy a full time Chef de Partie. This is an opportunity for a chef with practical experience of fresh food cooking in a fast paced environment and call order style service, to develop their skills and career to the next level, with support and guidance from an experienced team.
This is a full time role in a retail environment working 40 hours a week on a rota basis with some weekend shifts and bank holidays (no evening are required).

You will be responsible for the full service 200 cover Farmhouse Restaurant together with the coffee shop Cafe Med. As this is a multi-site centre, ideally you will have worked in a similar environment at management level.
This is a full time position including weekends and bank holidays.

Position: Commercial Retail Buyer (Pets and Aquatics)

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercial, retail buyer, preferably with knowledge of the pet and/or wild bird industry, wishing to further their career. You will have the sole responsibility for a department with a multimillion pound annual turnover and developing this to increase our reputation as a primary outlet for pets and pet supplies.
While experience in this area is not essential, a proven affinity with animals will be required. Experience of range planning, supplier negotiation, team leadership and the ability to work unsupervised will however be vital to succeed in this role.
The successful candidate will be flexible and have excellent organisational and PC skills (to include Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook), plus a confident approach to their work.
While our central buying team is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, this role could also be based in Peterborough, Cheshire or other locations within our group as a close relationship with the garden centres is essential to the smooth running of the buying operation.
This is a full time role, generally working Monday - Friday although there may be a requirement to work occasional weekends to meet the needs of the business.
